Skype Unplugged, Courtesy Of Logitech
Logitech is rolling out its lineup of Skype-friendly products, designed to make Skyping (is that a word?) more like traditional phone calling.
The cordless internet handset is certainly the friendliest option, in terms of form factor. It allows Skype-to-Skype calling, plus calls to and from “traditional” phones (Skype-in and Skype-out).
Your Skype contacts list shows up on the LCD display, so making a Skype call is as easy as scrolling to the contact you want to call, and choosing it. You can access voicemail and call logs from the handset as well, and it has a speakerphone function, plus a selection of ringtones. The base station includes the necessary USB to your PC. It’s due to hit the market in October for $99.99.
Logitech is also rolling out a new Skype-friendly USB/Bluetooth wireless headset. It’ll work with your PC (
without a separate Bluetooth dongle) or with your Bluetooth-enabled cellphone. And for your conference room, there’s a USB
speakerphone, again, designed with Skype in mind.
