Rumors More Fun Than Fact: iPhone Could Arrive By January
The last we heard about Apple’s much-anticipated new “iPhone” cellphone/media player combo, it was getting approval at the U.S. Patent Office. The paperwork included artsy-looking sketches and equally sketchy descriptions about capabilities.
Now, for those who get the Diggnation podcast, Kevin Rose suggests we could be seeing Apple’s new creation as early as January. It’ll be available to “all phone providers” (does this mean both CDMA and GSM versions - sold unlocked?).
Rose believes it’ll have flash memory, a slide-out keypad, and two batteries - one for the phone, one for the media player. As for pricing, Rose predicts $249 for a 4GB version, and $449 for the 8GB model.
He’s had good sources within Apple feeding him this kind of stuff before - and he’s been right.
