Report: Cingular Gets First Dibs On Nokia N75

We liked the look of the Nokia N75 when we first got a look at it back in September. It’s trying hard not to look like a phone, when it’s closed. That fits with Nokia’s marketing - they like to refer to smartphones like these as “multimedia computing devices”. Or some such nonsense.
We originally understood that Nokia would consider making these as either CDMA or GSM phones, which meant we had no idea which carrier might roll it out.
Now we’re hearing that this will be a Cingular offering (GSM), sometime very soon. When Cingular rolls it out, we understand it will be marketed for its multimedia capabilities - with 3G and microSD memory card it’ll work great both for downloading music and streaming XM channels via Cingular’s new music services.
The handsome-looking camera is 2 megapixel. Running Symbian Series 60 OS, it would make a pretty well-rounded smartphone, except there’s no QWERTY keyboard.
The rumor mill hasn’t been grinding out any hint of pricing. We’d guess somewhere between $100 and $200 with a 2-year agreement. With guesses like this, I could start my own rumor mill.
