How a Cellphone Works
Ever wondered how a cellphone works? There’s a website calle howstuffworks and it discusses how a mobile phone works.

Its a very interesting article actually. You get to know more about mobile base stations and how come you can continually talk without interruption even if you’re moving from one base station to another.
There’s also a portion where you will see the inner parts of a cellphone (lots of pics there), and discussions about FDMA, TDMA, GSM, CDMA, and 3G.
Mobile phone towers were also discussed.
While reading the article I was searching for a picture of an old mobile phone. You know, the ones with external battery that you need to carry like a shoulder bag? These are huge phones, and I mean huge compared to today’s standards. Like this one.

Then you can tell your son, “junior, come here. This is how our mobile phones look like before and we were happy back then…so don’t complain about this nokia 100 we gave for your birthday last week”.
Just for the young people who don’t know what a nokia 100 is. Here’s a photo.
