Dash On In And Get One At T-Mobile - October 25
T-Mobile’s PR machine is now putting HTC’s new Dash (a.k.a. Excalibur) into the hands of reviewers like Gary Krakow at MSNBC. As if they were available. They’re ”coming soon” according to T-Mobile’s website. We now understand they’ll actually be available October 25.
When they are, they’re worth a look if you’re a Smartphone user and you haven’t already snapped up a Pearl or a Q. Or maybe if you have. Krakow calls it the “smallest, slickest and smartest” of its kind.
Although some complain that its profile is a little frumpy looking, we’re intrigued by the black suede finish, well-formed keyboard and of course the GSM/GPRS/Edge/WiFi plus Bluetooth capabilities. Krakow had no gripes whatsoever about Windows Mobile and he loved the 2 days real world battery life - not quite as efficient as a Palm Treo but close.
At $199 with a 2-year deal after rebates and incentives it’s at that same price point as the BlackBerry Pearl and Motorola Q.

All at around the same $199.99 price point as the Motorola Q from Verizon. So Verizon Wireless is shaving another $100 off the price to get noticed. [...]
