LG's GC900 Viewty II
The LG GC900, also known as the Viewty 2, was apparently seen recently at the CeBIT show that is taking place in Germany. Reportedly shown under close supervision, with no photos allowed, this new cell phone is said to feature a large 3.1-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution touchscreen display.
Based on a photo of a spec sheet seen at the event, the LG GC900 is believed to include an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with image stabilization and smile recognition, backed by a Xenon flash, and a microSD card slot for expanded storage. The GC900 will also apparently include WiFi and HSDPA for high-speed data connections, with a built-in GPS receiver for navigation. The phone is reported to use LG’s new S-Class 3D user interface, as well.
That leaves all navigation to the 3-inch WVGA touchscreen, which uses LG’s new 3D S-Class GUI as seen on the LG Arena KM900. Other specs include an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, Xenon flash, image stabilizer, face-tracking and ISO 1600. There’s also A-GPS, for navigation and image geo-tagging, and support for push email, DivX and Xvid video playback, and auto screen-rotation.
The LG GC900 Viewty 2 has HSDPA 7.2Mbps and WiFi (presumably b/g), and onboard storage can be expanded to up to 32GB via microSD card. According to the newmobile team, the prototype was in a pretty early stage of development - even using a lower resolution, WQVGA panel - so we may have to wait a while for the official announcement.
