Add Banks To List Of No Cell Phone Zones
Welcome to the First National Bank.
Now, put away your cell phone.
The First National Bank in Chicago Heights, Ill. is one of a number of banks that has decided to forbid cell phone use in the lobby. It has nothing to do with annoying conversations or cutesy ringtones. It’s all about security.
Criminals can be using cell phones to communicate with one another - one in the bank, robbing it,
and another, outside the bank, watching out for the cops. The use of camera phones by crooks who are casing the joint is another concern.
If it makes you feel any better, mobile technology isn’t the only thing bankers want to forbid inside their banks. They also want to prohibit hoods, hats and sunglasses.
Meanwhile - for businesses that want to post signs that get people’s attention, to turn off the phone - Victory Store has a few to choose from.
